The Fiji Political Review is an independent online journal providing evidence-based analysis of Fijian politics, policy and governance. It is published by Lanieta Tukana, founding editor, and operated from Sydney, Australia.

What Data We Collect

Email addresses If you subscribe to the Fiji Political Review, we collect your email address. This is the only personal information we collect.

We do not collect your name unless you provide it voluntarily when contacting us. We do not collect payment information — subscriptions are free. We do not collect demographic information.

Contact emails If you email us at editor@fijipoliticalreview.com, we receive and store the content of that email and your email address for the purpose of responding to you.


Why We Collect It

We collect your email address for one purpose only: to send you new articles from the Fiji Political Review directly to your inbox when they are published.

We do not use your email address for advertising. We do not sell your email address to third parties. We do not share your email address with any organisation outside of the services listed below.


Who Processes Your Data

The Fiji Political Review uses Ghost Pro — a publishing platform operated by Ghost Foundation — to manage subscriptions and send newsletters. Ghost Pro acts as our data processor. Your email address is stored on Ghost Pro's servers.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your email address for as long as you remain a subscriber to the Fiji Political Review. If you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted from our subscriber list.

Contact emails are kept for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.


Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe at any time — every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes you from our subscriber list immediately.
  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you — email us at editor@fijipoliticalreview.com
  • Request that we delete your personal information — email us and we will delete your subscriber record within 14 days
  • Correct any inaccurate information we hold about you

The Fiji Political Review is operated from Australia and complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you believe we have handled your personal information in a way that breaches the Australian Privacy Principles, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au


Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy we will note the update date at the top of this page. We will not use your personal information in ways materially different from those described here without giving you notice.
